Being a Citizen of India

Being a Citizen of India

·         We must carry clean drinking water from Kindergarden days since Govt of India could not provide clean drinking water after 68 years of independence.  Some places in the country still do not get any tap water.

·         We must have inverters and generators in our houses as the Govt could not generate enough electricity in the 68 years after independence.

·         We must have multiple ID cards for different purposes as the Govt is not satisfied with just one for all purposes.

·         We must accept adulterated food items as the Govt has poor implementation of its own laws.

·         We must bribe Govt officials at all levels to get our fundamental rights.  The golden rule applies for them “If caught accepting bribe, pay bribe to get away”.

·         We must struggle to reach our place of work as the Govt could not develop an infrastructure to match its population growth.  Lack of development in rural areas has increased migration from rural areas to urban areas, resulting in crowded cities and failed infrastructure facilities that exist.  Traveling to or within rural areas still remain a nightmare after 68 years of independence.

·         We must live and work in metropolitan cities as there is not enough development elsewhere in India.  The Govt cannot even boast of developing the metropolitan cities as nothing was planned but it all just happened.  The Common Wealth games happened in Delhi when this was a good opportunity to develop another city/state.

·         We live in a secular country by constitution but what region of India is actually secular.  The credit goes to our political leaders who have always harvested their selfish interest.

·         We have a right to freedom, information and education but then also have reservations everywhere.

·         We have a judicial system that takes endless time to give a verdict and then the next level reverses the verdict completely.

·         We have police that makes criminals out of good samaritans.  When stuck in traffic there is no policemen around but as soon you take a breathe out of the traffic and accelerate a bit, we get a ticket (challan) for over-speeding.

·         We must treat our sons and daughters differently.  We consider our sons as our assets whereas they treat us as their liabilities when they grow up.  We consider our daughters as our liabilities whereas they treat us as their assets when they grow up.

·         We must drive in the wrong lane as we like shortcuts.  We let sane drivers suffer as long as we consider having saved fuel by using the wrong lane.

·         We never read any religious books to understand the meaning of life.  We read it to satisfy our religious beliefs.

·         We follow our ancestors blindly and have no courage to change any customs after years of slavery and superstition.  Festivals are just occasions for celebrations with just symbolic significance and no meaning in our lives.

·         We believe in God Almighty to help when in distress but also believe that life is a celebration of physical self, not soul. This is why we consider women as an object of pleasure.  We are yet to accept that pleasure is felt by soul not the body and thus end up frustrated and sometimes in jail to be bribed out.  The new generation has found a new search engine for peace in life, social media.

·         We must rely on our journalists as they control public perceptions.  Page 3 people are the Gods and Goddesses in transit.  villains are actually heros’ in trouble, verdicts can be delivered before cases go to trial, indecent photography is to attract public attention.

Mera Bharat Mahaan.
